Why this one
Full immersive sound, half the height.
Features
What it actually does
The slim chassis does not mean a lesser converter. It is the same simultaneous eight-channel conversion used across Series 2.
At 109 mm tall it is roughly half the height of a normal AV receiver, so it fits cabinets and media units that rule out a full-size chassis.
50 W per channel into 8 ohms with 7.2 processing. Suited to small and mid-sized rooms rather than large spaces or current-hungry speakers.
Audyssey MultEQ XT with the supplied microphone, and Dirac Live Room Correction available as a paid upgrade.
Even in the slim chassis you keep a complete pre-out set, so it can later drive external power amplifiers as a processor.
