Introduction
Pro-Ject's E1 line has always been the answer to one question: what is the least amount of setup you can do and still end up with a real turntable? The E1.2 BT answers it again, and this time the cable to your amplifier is optional too.
It's the same E1.2 chassis, the same factory-set tracking force and anti-skating, the same pre-mounted Pick it MM E cartridge. What's new is a new-generation Qualcomm transmitter module running Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, plus a dedicated pairing button so you can connect a new pair of headphones without power-cycling the deck to force it back into pairing mode.
Pro-Ject also used the launch to expand the colours. Alongside High Gloss Black, Walnut and Satin White, there are hand-painted Colour versions on a CNC-machined MDF chassis: Satin Black, Steel Blue, Fir Green and Golden Yellow.

Who It's For
This is for the first turntable in a flat with no separates in it. If your speakers are already active or wireless, or you mostly listen on headphones after everyone else is asleep, the E1.2 BT skips the entire amplifier question and still gives you a properly engineered belt-drive deck with a real cartridge on a real tonearm.
Who should look elsewhere: if you want to run the deck into a line input on an old receiver with no phono stage, look at the E1.2 Phono instead, which trades the Bluetooth for a switchable built-in preamp. And if you need 78 RPM or an arm that lifts itself at the end of a side, this isn't that deck.

Final Thoughts
Bluetooth on a turntable is easy to dismiss until you notice how many people own records, own headphones, and own no amplifier. The E1.2 BT is aimed exactly there, and it does it without cutting the parts that matter: the platter, the arm and the cartridge are the same ones Pro-Ject ships on the wired E1.2. At €399 that's a reasonable trade, as long as you know you're buying a transmitter, not a phono stage.
